La Kunsthalle
La Kunsthalle is the Contemporary Art Center of National Interest of the City of Mulhouse. Located in La Fonderie – a building it shares with the Université de Haute-Alsace – it develops an exhibition program and events rooted in research and the production of new works.
Within a 500 m² space, La Kunsthalle hosts and produces temporary exhibitions dedicated to contemporary creation, exploring the art scene through monographic and thematic invitations.
Through its programming, the art center positions itself as a bridge between contemporary artistic creation and a wide range of audiences. By welcoming artists and curators in residence, La Kunsthalle also affirms its role as a site for production and critical reflection on art.
With its studio at Motoco, La Kunsthalle provides residents with a workspace for experimentation and production – an essential environment for research and the development of artistic practices. The Motoco site also enables residents to connect with numerous artists, fostering collaborations and encounters with cultural and economic stakeholders in the region.
Residents are selected through open calls for projects or applications regularly published on La Kunsthalle’s website.
