Kean

Kean was born in 1988 and lives and works in Mulhouse, in the MOTOCO building. He is a French painter. Kean first developed his creative practice in urban space as a graffiti artist. Gradually, he left the walls behind to devote himself to painting on linen canvas. His abstract landscapes impress through the immaculate perfection of their gradients. Developed in subtle color ranges, they immerse us each time in distinct atmospheres of rare sensuality. His works are created with great patience and are deeply connected to his various artistic practices.

His mastery of gradients and color nuances carries strong emotional power, inviting viewers into contemplation and a sense of well-being. In this sense, his work aligns with the legacy of American Color Field painting, and even more closely with the Californian Light and Space movement, whose artists such as the renowned James Turrell placed the study of perceptual phenomena, particularly light and space, at the center of their concerns.
