Antonia Majeru/Onni dv is a German-Romanian video artist, born in Nuremberg, Germany, in 1996. She holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Fine Arts from La Sorbonne, Paris [2022], as well as a DNSEP from the École supérieur d’art Annecy Alpes [2023]. After an initial collaboration with the city of Mulhouse as part of her participation in the Biennale des Commencements 25, she moved into the MOTOCO studios in 2026.
Through video, she explores the subtle forms of oppression and patriarchal domination. Her work explores the relationship between the body and the object, conceived as a space for dialogue between subjectivity and objectivity. The gestures that unfold, both intimate and ambiguous, seek to bring forth an opaque language, fuelled by tensions and interactions.
Everyday objects thus become metaphorical expressions of feminist concerns. Their banality, sometimes tinged with absurdity, allows for ‘incognito politicisation’: a poetic shift that indirectly reveals social realities and sensitive issues.
Influenced notably by Chantal Akerman, Ulrich Seidl and Laura Gozlan, she uses the ordinary as a starting point for her works, which she transforms into disturbing allegories of everyday life. Her practice is now focused on developing visual forms that extend and reinforce the impact of her video images.
