Born in 1951 in Barcelona, Enrique lives and works in Basel, Mulhouse, and Cazalla de la Sierra.<\/p>\n

Since the early 2000s, Enrique Fontanilles\u2019 work has largely consisted of photographing himself with other people while recreating historical images. The aim of this practice is to initiate dialogue with those who join him on the stage of his performances, engaging with questions surrounding the perception of the contemporary world.<\/p>\n

In 2017, he began a body of work focused on the oeuvre and figure of R\u00e9my Zaugg (who passed away in 2005) and his family. The Swiss artist had a studio in Pfastatt designed by Herzog & de Meuron, which is now abandoned.<\/p>\n

He has held various teaching positions: at the Schule f\u00fcr Gestaltung Basel (1972\u20131998 and 2009\u20132015), at the Kunsthochschule f\u00fcr Medien Cologne (1990\u20131995), at the \u00c9cole Sup\u00e9rieure des Beaux-Arts Gen\u00e8ve (1998\u20132008), and at the University of Cincinnati (1978).<\/p>\n

Since 1975, he has carried out numerous artistic projects and interdisciplinary interventions across various media, notably collaborating with Guillaume Bijl, Expo.02, Herzog & de Meuron, Ulrike Jehle Schulte-Strathaus, Ren\u00e9 Pulfer, Littmann Kulturprojekte, and the Mus\u00e9e d\u2019Archienrique.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
