False stories, perhaps\u2026 or maybe not.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"180\" data-end=\"372\">I sometimes think of that song Blanche sings a few lines from in <em data-start=\"245\" data-end=\"271\">A Streetcar Named Desire<\/em> by <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Tennessee Williams<\/span><\/span>:<br data-start=\"313\" data-end=\"316\" \/>\u2018It\u2019s only a paper moon, sailing over a cardboard sea\u2026\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"374\" data-end=\"798\">That is somewhat what Marie Freudenreich\u2019s paintings are about.<br data-start=\"437\" data-end=\"440\" \/>A world held together with tape.<br data-start=\"472\" data-end=\"475\" \/>As if the image we perceive as \u201creality\u201d were nothing more than a cardboard set, ready to blow away at the first gust of wind.<br data-start=\"601\" data-end=\"604\" \/>An optical illusion that barely conceals\u2014like a skirt too short\u2014the void surrounding us: the immense black cosmos, the eternity of death framing our lives.<br data-start=\"759\" data-end=\"762\" \/>The fragility of everything we know.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"800\" data-end=\"1003\">When two colors are placed side by side, they are truly edge to edge.
