In his work as a photographer and attentive observer of the world, he focuses on events in which the order of the \u201cliving\u201d asserts itself in a major, essential way. These are unique moments\u2014almost invisible because they are so fleeting\u2014that question him and with which he seeks to create his work.<\/p>\n
He says that \u201caccidents of reality\u201d are at the heart of part of his photographic practice. By \u201caccident of reality,\u201d he refers to improbable scenographies that suddenly take shape, offering the eye unexpected encounters. He captures these plural moments; he searches for them and patiently waits for them, knowing that this is not mere chance, but the affirmation of a deeply personal quest to rediscover something rooted within himself.<\/p>\n
He cannot escape what moves him.<\/p>\n
He seeks something born of the ordinary that, once captured, becomes \u201cextra\u201d-ordinary. His photographs do not exist solely in relation to reality, but also in relation to painting. He pushes the photographic image toward becoming texture, form caught in the movement of color. In this photographic \u201cpainting,\u201d what interests him is the carnal dimension\u2014where movement arises from an excess of color, where blurred contours prevail. It is his way of \u201cpoeticizing\u201d the world and returning it to its mystery.<\/p>\n
Ultimately, his images tell stories\u2014staged moments of time and of beings. Reality becomes a set, opening multiple possible readings of the photographed image.<\/p>\n
When life crosses his lens, he attempts to restore it in its fullness. The life within his photographs conveys the joy that has passed through him\u2014one might even say he is an epicurean photographer !<\/p>\n
